Hoorah! no more faffing about loading and printing each topo individually... You can now get a handy PDF document containing all the latest information and topos for any crag featured in the Topo Library.
Well it has been "coming soon" for a while but in geological terms 6 months isn't much and after all, this site is about rock! Seriously though - a beta of this new feature is ready to try for
eligible contributors.
Contributors Only?
For the time being, yes. We want to offer the service to a limited number of people to start with while we sort out any teething problems. In the future the service may be also available via a subscription(
although normal viewing of the site's content will always be free).
This is also a way to get more people contributing so we can all enjoy a better resource.
Who is an eligible contributor?
For now, an eligible contributor is anyone who has been granted permanent access to the service
- Anyone who has added a route description (to a topo image of their own or somebody else's) over the preceding month
- Anyone who has added a post to the forums (in Feedback) and replied to someone else's (in Feedback or Blog... this post for example) over the preceding month.
- Everyone who has contributed to date (thanks ...you all have permanent access by default).
How do I get permanent access to the service?
By fulfilling a certain quota; for now, the bar is pretty low. You need to have contributed one or more topo images, at any time, together featuring 15 routes or more in total and including lines, grades and text descriptions.
We will review the quota after a month or two but once you are in, you are in.
Junk contributions
Please don't - we keep an eye on what is submitted and can disqualify or ban if we need to - if you find a bogus contribution which we have missed, please let us know.
