hi - as the original writer of the holyhead mtn guide (Mona) in 1971 - i was surprised to see just how wrong anyone (a web page) can get the lines on the photos -
is there any quality controll system ?
just a thought.

Hi David, thanks for pointing this out - any chance of some help here?

As far as quality control goes, a couple of important measures have been put in place since these images were put up (they were among the earliest). Firstly, it is no longer possible to edit anonymously and secondly, it is now very easy to see when any changes are made to the topos. We also are planning email notification to let contributors know when their contributions are edited and, last but not least, managed projects within the Topo Library..

At the end of the day it is user participation - or the lack of it  that will determine the quality of the information on  this website.

As an aside, I noticed that Sai-Dancer, who I believe has also been involved in the Gogarth guide and did a lot of first ascents, added a number of descriptions to these topos a few months back. These at least I would assume to be pretty reliable.

best regards,

Any descriptions I have been unable to verify have now been deleted from the Holyhead Mtn topos. Sai-dancer's input was taken as read.
